Teaching and Learning Practitioner
Salary: £21,000 – £22,714 per annum following school year appraisal every July (effective September)
(Equivalent to £14.46 – £15.53 per hour)
Location: Tram House Sixth Form School, Roehampton, London SW15 5LD
Free residential street parking available. The location is a 10-minute walk from Barnes Station and is accessible by several bus routes (969, 72, 265, 493, 337, and 33).
Contract Options:
- Permanent Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 4:45pm
- Permanent Part-time: Minimum of 3 days per week, 8:45am – 4:45pm
Working Pattern: Term-time only (39 weeks per year)
About the Role

BeyondAutism is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to become part of our dedicated team at our Sixth Form in Roehampton, supporting pupils and young adults aged 16–19.
We are seeking both experienced and trainee practitioners who are passionate about improving the lives of autistic children and young adults. As a Teaching and Learning Practitioner, you will be part of a class team supporting approximately eight learners per class.
You will assist in delivering high-quality teaching based on Behaviour Analysis, working both one-to-one and in small groups with learners who have autism and additional learning needs.

💰 Competitive salary progression
- £21,000 starting salary
- £21,840 after successful probation
- £22,714 following annual appraisal
- Annual salary is divided into 12 equal monthly payments and paid monthly so you earn the same every month irrespective of whether there is a term break within the month.

What We’re Looking For
- A passion for supporting autistic children and young people with additional learning needs
- GCSE pass in English and Maths essential (or equivalent)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, kindness, and the ability to build rapport quickly
- Resilience to manage the emotional and physical demands of the role
- Basic IT and MS Office skills and Tech Savvy (for recording and updating data)
- Willingness to travel using public transport
Experience That Could Be Relevant
You may already have professional experience supporting young people, or you may have gained valuable experience in other ways.
For example:
- You may be an experienced tutor or teacher
- You may have worked with children in a therapeutic or educational setting
- You may have supported vulnerable family members
- You may have experience in care or community support roles
- You may have experience in sports coaching or youth work
