Teaching and Learning Mentor – Make a Real Difference!
Salary: £21,000 - £22,714 per annum after school year appraisal every July, effective September (equates to £14.46 - £15.53 per hour)
Location: Wandsworth, London SW18
Contract: Permanent,, Full-time – working Term-time only, 39 weeks per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday – with an early 4pm finish on Fridays!

What’s the role?
As a Teaching and Learning Mentor, you’ll work with a fantastic team in our Post-19 service, supporting young adults with autism in Wandsworth and out in the community. You’ll use Behaviour Analysis techniques (don’t worry, we’ll train you up!) to help them develop communication skills and prepare for adulthood.
Post-19 is an educational service designed for autistic adults aged 19-25, focusing on helping them develop functional communication, language skills, and preparing them for the next stage of life.
With a personalised curriculum tailored to each student, we provide a study program that equips them with the essential skills needed for independent or supported living, vocational training, employment, health and wellbeing, and active participation in their communities. Our goal is to support their journey into adulthood with confidence and capability.

· Term-time only - working 39 weeks per annum - perfect for those who love their summers off!
· Competitive salary: £21,000 starting salary, rising to £21,840 after successfully passing probation, and £22,714 after school year appraisal every July, effective September (£14:46 - £15.53 per hour)

What we’re looking for:
· Genuine passion for working with young adults with autism.
· Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths (or childcare qualification).
· Resilience to handle the emotional and physical demands of the role.
· Team player with great communication skills.
· Kind, patient, and able to quickly engage and build rapport.
· Basic MS Office, IT skills and tech savvy (you’ll be recording and updating data online).
· Willingness to use all forms of public transport.
